KAUAʻI HOTEL GUIDE

Which Beach Is My
Hotel On?

Every major Kauaʻi hotel mapped to its actual beach with water quality data

⚠ Why this matters — the beach name on your hotel's website is not always the same name the DOH uses for water quality monitoring. This map connects the two so you can check bacteria risk for the beach you will actually be swimming at.
🏨 Grand Hyatt Kauai Low
South shore resort. Poipu Beach is one of the sunniest, driest spots on Kauaʻi with consistently good water quality.
🏨 Sheraton Kauai Low
Directly on Poipu Beach. Two sides of the hotel offer different beach exposures.
🏨 Koa Kea Hotel Low
Boutique hotel right on Poipu Beach. Same excellent south shore water quality.
🏨 Koloa Landing Resort Low
Not directly beachfront. Short walk to Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach.
🏨 1 Hotel Hanalei (formerly St. Regis) Moderate
North shore. Hanalei Bay is beautiful but receives significant rainfall. Higher bacteria risk after rain.
🏨 Westin Princeville Moderate
Cliffside resort with views of Hanalei Bay. Beach access via shuttle or drive to Hanalei.
🏨 Kauai Marriott Resort Very High
Every water sample at Kalapaki since 2016 has exceeded safe bacteria limits. Persistent brown water advisory since Dec 2025. Among the worst water quality of any resort beach in Hawaii.
🏨 Kauai Beach Resort Moderate
Near Lydgate Beach Park with boulder-enclosed swimming pools. Good for families.
