About the Westin Maui Resort

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa occupies a prime stretch of Kaʻanapali Beach at the center of West Maui's resort corridor. With its signature waterfalls, swan-filled pools, and direct beachfront access, the Westin puts guests right on the sand of one of Hawaii's most famous beach walks. The Kaʻanapali Beach Walk connects the Westin to the Whaler's Village shops, the Sheraton at Black Rock to the north, and the Hyatt to the south — all walkable along the beachfront. Heading north beyond Kaʻanapali brings you to Napili and Kapalua, where quieter bays offer some of Maui's cleanest and calmest water.

Napili Bay Low ●
A small crescent bay surrounded by low-rise condos, Napili is known for its calm water and regular sea turtle sightings along the rocky edges. The bay has a more intimate, old-Hawaii feel compared to the Kaʻanapali strip. Swimming is usually calm, though some winter swell can wrap into the bay.
15 min
North
Kapalua Bay Low ●
Kapalua Bay is framed by two lava peninsulas that block wind and waves, creating one of Maui's most sheltered swimming and snorkeling spots. The protected cove stays calm year-round, and the coral along the edges supports a healthy reef ecosystem. The small parking lot fills quickly, but the Kapalua Coastal Trail provides pedestrian access from the north.

North
D.T. Fleming offers a wide expanse of sand with lifeguards on duty and ironwood trees providing natural shade along the back. Named America's Best Beach in 2006, it remains one of West Maui's most spacious options. Shore break on the north end can be powerful in winter — swim near the lifeguard tower for calmer conditions.
