Water quality at Waikiki Beach Walk
Espacio The Jewel of Waikiki is an ultra-luxury boutique hotel near the Waikiki Beach Walk area. The nearest beach access is the central Waikiki Beach strip. Water quality here follows the same patterns as the rest of Waikiki: the Ala Wai Canal drives bacteria risk during and after rain. On dry days, conditions are typically fine for swimming. The Beach Walk section is well-maintained with good access.
The Hawaii Department of Health recommends staying out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after heavy rain, even if the water looks clear. Bacteria and pollutants from runoff can linger in the water longer than the brown color does.
