HAWAII GUIDE

Hawaii Surf Spots
Water Quality Guide

Which breaks are cleanest — and which to avoid after rain

⚠️ The 72-Hour Rule Applies to Surfers Too

Surfers get exposed to ocean water during duck dives, wipeouts, and hold-downs. The DOH's 72-hour rain rule is just as relevant for surfing as it is for swimming. Paddling out in contaminated water near stream mouths after rain means real exposure risk — especially with open cuts from reef contact.
