Lagoon 4 (Kohola) — Water quality & swimming conditions
📍 Ko Olina, West Oʻahu — Protected lagoon, family-friendly
Ko Olina's four man-made lagoons are protected from the open ocean by rock walls, creating calm, crystal-clear swimming conditions. The lagoons are located on Oʻahu's dry leeward (west) coast where minimal rainfall keeps water quality consistently excellent. Regular ocean flushing maintains water circulation and clarity.
Lagoon 4 (Kohola) fronting the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club is popular with families for its calm, clear water. The white sand beaches are maintained by the Ko Olina resort community. The area is monitored regularly and maintains some of the best DOH results on Oʻahu's west shore.
Based on: Man-made protected lagoon, dry leeward coast, regular water circulation
Stay out for at least 72 hours after heavy rain. Ko Olina is on the dry leeward side of Oʻahu — heavy rain is infrequent, making this one of the most reliably clean swimming spots on the island.
